Charlotte, North Carolina — What began as a routine food delivery turned into a tragic discovery that has left a family and community in shock.

A DoorDash driver, noticing a foul odor at a home on March 10, alerted authorities — and responding officers found the body of 23-year-old Evelin Carolina Enamorado-Cisnado inside a closet, wrapped in blankets and towels. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the suspect, 23-year-old Lhis Birito Costa, had previously dated Enamorado-Cisnado. Court records indicate Costa allegedly shot her after learning she was seeing someone else. Costa was arrested the following day and has been charged with murder.

Enamorado-Cisnado’s family remembers her as a kind-hearted young woman whose life was taken far too soon. Her aunt has asked the community to help with donations to bring her body home to Honduras for burial.
