Moulton Resident Dies in Highway 2 Collision

Bloomfield, IA — David Downen, 61, a longtime resident of Moulton, passed away late Sunday following a head‑on crash on Highway 2 near the Highway 63 South junction. Iowa State Patrol investigators say Downen’s SUV was traveling in the wrong lane when it struck a vehicle carrying Kobi Roberts, 25, of La Plata, Missouri, and Jesse Smith, 56, of Unionville, Iowa.

Emergency responders transported all involved to Davis County Hospital, where Downen died from his injuries. Officials have not yet disclosed the conditions of the other two individuals.
