Aleiana Witten Death Obituary- Big Clifty Kentucky Cliff Fall Kills 27‑Year‑Old Aleiana Witten

Authorities are investigating a fatal fall that occurred Saturday evening near Big Clifty, resulting in the death of Aleiana Witten, 27, of Jefferson County.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 7:48 p.m. to Sonora–Hardin Springs Road following reports that a woman had fallen from a cliff. Responders from West Hardin County Fire & Rescue located Witten on rocks below a steep drop. She was determined to have died from her injuries prior to the initiation of medical treatment.

Officials noted that the recovery effort was complicated by hazardous terrain, including thick brush, jagged rock surfaces, and a significant vertical drop estimated at several stories. Multiple agencies, including Elizabethtown Fire and Rescue and Hardin County EMS, assisted in navigating the area and securing the scene.

Witten was remembered by acquaintances as a personable and energetic individual with a strong appreciation for outdoor environments. Her death has prompted reflection within the local community about the potential dangers associated with remote natural areas.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has assumed responsibility for the investigation. At this stage, no foul play is suspected, and the incident is being classified as accidental pending further review.

Obituary, memorial, visitation, and funeral service information will be released by the family at a later time. All details remain preliminary, and not all information has been independently verified.
